Introduction to Bangladesh Labor Law & Rules
Before you start, you should know about,
Constitution -the basic written principles and laws of a
nation, state, or social group that determine the powers and duties of the
government and guarantee certain rights to the people in it.
Law- a rule of conduct or action prescribed or formally
recognized as binding or enforced by a controlling authority.
Act- a collection of provisions regarding the same subject.
Rules- a prescribed guide for conduct or action.
Regulation - the action or process
of regulating or being regulated.
Bangladesh Labor Laws mainly consist of BLA 2006 and BLR 2015
Bangladesh Labor Act (BLA) 2006 was established by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs as per Act No. XLII (42) of 2006 on 11th October 2006
THE BANGLADESH LABOR ACT, 2006

An Act to amend and consolidate the laws relating to employment of workers, relations between workers and employers, determination of minimum rates of wages, payment of wages, compensation for injuries to workers during working hours, formation of trade unions, raising and settlement of industrial disputes, health, safety, welfare and working conditions and environment of workers and apprenticeship and matters ancillary thereto.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Labor Rules (BLR) 2015 was established by the Ministry of Labor and Employment as per Bangladesh Labor Act (BLA) 2006 section 351 “Power to Make Rules” Sub Section (1) on 15th September 2015
THE BANGLADESH LABOR RULES, 2015

In the exercise of the power conferred by Section 351 of the
Bangladesh Labor Act, 2006, the Government has hereby adopted the following
Rules:
According to Bangladesh Labor Law Act 2006 Section 351,
Power to make rules, Sub-section (1)
The Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, make single consolidated or separate rules for carrying out the purposes of this Act or for every or any matter which shall be or may be, prescribed by rules under this Act.
